Greenwood Senior High School

  Greenwood Senior High School is located forteen kilometres  north of Perth and five kilometres from the Indian Ocean, nestled among tall native trees. The school hosts the Intensive English Centre which caters for students from a diverse range of backgrounds including international fee paying students and first-time attendees.

  Teachers support the principles of co-operate, achieve, respect and engage in their teaching and learning programs (CARE) and are well supported through the community for their caring approach and school life in general.

  Aviation and Volleyball are two of the school's speciality areas endorsed by the Department of Education, along with school based elite programs in Music and Dance. Following the recent rejuvenation of the school vision, different pathways are available to the variety of students attending the school.

  These pathways cater for individual differences ranging from those students aspiring to university (direct or alternate entry), TAFE, trade apprenticeships or employment. The school day can incorporate attendance at TAFE, working in the community and tutorials by staff after school.

  The acceptance of our application for Independent Public School status in 2011 has confirmed not onlythe outstanding support we receive from our school community but also substantiates the positiveoutcomes our students have achieved this year. With increased governance over our fiscal resourcingwe will continue to work together to further enhance outcomes for all students.

  Greenwood Senior High School staff have always been committed to providing our students with thenecessary support and opportunities to maximise their academic, physical, creative and social growth. In2011 this is clearly demonstrated in the successes and achievements of our students.

  . 100% of Year 12 students achieved Graduation. Greenwood Senior High School was one of only 10 Secondary Schools selected to become anIndependent Public School for 2012.
